The Index of Iowa Laws links to Code of Iowa chapters and sections that are applicable to municipal government. Users should be warned, however, that there is a large body of interpretive case law and attorney general opinions listed in annotations to the Code of Iowa that may be needed for a truly accurate interpretation of these laws. Please consult with your city attorney to review how these laws may apply to your particular situation.
The League previously published this information as a printed document. It is now available free of charge to all League members. The Index of Iowa Laws Relating to Cities attempts to give cities an alphabetical topic reference to the Code of Iowa.
