Join us for a student-led (along with administrators) tour and presentation of the Career Academy in Downtown Sioux City. Located in a renovated building, the Sioux City Career Academy brings together students from high schools in the surrounding area to explore any of the district’s 31 career pathways. Part of Iowa’s Future Ready program, each pathway is a career-focused sequence of high school courses that integrates core academic knowledge with technical and occupational knowledge, with a goal of connecting workforce, community and student needs. The Career Academy has a current enrollment of 2,300 students, and because they have a shared interest in their academic area of focus, they benefit from an enhanced social experience in a real-world setting.
