Sioux City’s riverfront is at the heart of the community and continues to be a focus of City efforts to provide an amenity residents can utilize for a wide variety of purposes. This mobile workshop will begin with a visit to the Seaboard Triumph Foods Expo Center, home to the Sioux City Parks & Recreation Department, and see how an arena the size of a football field can accommodate large tradeshows and sports tournaments by converting the flooring from concrete to artificial turf. Then, walk the riverfront trail to the recently renovated Chris Larsen Park – a $12 million investment – and see active recreation areas, fitness stations, basketball courts, a dog park, overlooks, exploration ridge, interactive fountain, and more.

A shuttle will be provided to the Expo Center, followed by a tour of the facility. The group will then walk along the riverfront trail and return to the Convention Center via shuttle. Bring comfortable shoes.
