Homes for Iowa, Inc. (HFI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit addressing Iowa’s housing shortage, workforce gap, and recidivism rates. Founded in 2019, HFI is a public-private partnership with Iowa Prison Industries that provides building trades training and re-entry employment support while constructing affordable homes statewide. Since delivering its first home in 2020, HFI has completed over 100 homes across Iowa, building opportunity for justice-involved individuals and communities alike.
