Description

The Mid Iowa Development Association (MIDAS) Council of Governments is a regional planning agency that was formed in 1974. MIDAS serves Calhoun, Hamilton, Humboldt, Pocahontas, Webster and Wright Counties, and the cities located within those counties. MIDAS provides grant writing and grant administration; ordinance samples, preparation, and codification of ordinances; zoning ordinances; transportation planning; economic development planning; technical assistance; hazard mitigation plans; housing needs assessments; Urban Renewal and Urban Revitalization plans; Comprehensive Plans; GIS; and Revolving Loan Funds (RLF) for economic and housing development. MIDAS also owns and operates the RTA 5 transit system, and operates Fort Dodge’s DART transit system.
