Sign Up to be a Legislative Champion

To ensure that Iowa communities have a strong presence at the Capitol and that your interests are well represented, we need your help. We have set up the legislative champions to represent their cities, gain insight into legislation, communicate with the League, and connect with your legislators.

The Legislative Champions group is open to all local officials interested in staying informed during the legislative session. Members meet bi-weekly to receive Capitol updates directly from the Government Affairs team.

By joining, you’ll also receive guidance on building and maintaining productive relationships with your local lawmakers. Your Senators and Representatives can benefit from your insights into local issues and the workings of local government, expertise they may not have themselves. While reaching out can feel daunting, success stories from other Legislative Champions show its value, and the Government Affairs team is here to help you get started.
