Bio: Marketa Oliver, ICMA-CM, SPHR, is the City Administrator for Bondurant, Iowa. She has been in City Management for 30+ years, beginning on the management team with the City of Yakima, WA and returning to Iowa as the City Administrator for the City of Windsor Heights and then City Manager in Norwalk before joining Bondurant in 2017. Marketa holds both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Drake University where she served as an adjunct professor for several years, teaching public budgeting in their MPA program. Marketa counts as some of her career accomplishments being honored with the Joe Lukehart Award for outstanding contributions to the City Management profession in Iowa; achieving ten International City/County Management Association Program Excellence Awards; four Iowa City/County Management Association Program of the Year awards; and negotiating multiple economic development agreements worth up to $216 million that created 3,000+ jobs. Marketa has been married to her husband George for 30 years and has a daughter in Drake law school. She enjoys travelling, opera, and a variety of games with friends.
