While municipal finance has similarities from town to town, there are unique fiscal challenges facing Iowa's smallest communities. This workshop will provide an inside look at a few challenges and opportunities for financial management and planning as it relates to towns below 1,000 population.

Bio: From working as a Legislative Page at the Iowa State Capital in 2012 to serving in her current roles as a Naval Reserves Officer and Public Finance Investment Banker, Rebecca Greenway brings nearly a decade of professional experience across government and finance. At Northland, she serves exclusively local governments out of its West Des Moines public finance offices. Our public finance group provides community leaders with capital market financing solutions including bond underwriting, municipal advisory services, long range capital planning, and economic development. Rebecca is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a B.J. degree focused on Data Analysis and Investigative Reporting. In addition, she holds an M.B.A. focused on Investment Banking, from Cornell University. She holds and maintains Series 79, 63, 52 (Municipal Securities Representative), and 50 (Municipal Advisor) licenses.

Bio: Bill has more than twenty-five years of investment banking experience, including tax-exempt bonds, debt placements, derivative structuring and mergers & acquisitions. Since 2004, Bill has had the opportunity to provide capital market financing solutions for senior housing and community hospital clients across the country. In his spare time, Bill enjoys serving as a Board member for an Olathe, KS, non-profit life plan community, as well as traveling with his wife and two daughters. Bill is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a B.A. degree in Economics and Political Science. He holds and maintains Series 54 (Municipal Advisor Principal), 53 (Municipal Securities Principal), 50 (Municipal Advisor) licenses, 24 and 7 licenses.
