A comprehensive plan is important for a community because it represents the future desires and aspirations of a place, built around a public consensus-building process. The plan provides a unique roadmap for long-term development and change in a community and is an opportunity to view many complex overlapping facets in one succinct guiding document. But, after years of planning, what can be done to implement comprehensive plans? This presentation will discuss how you can put your comprehensive plan into action, from planning to funding to building. Attendees will learn about rezoning to meet requirements of district standards, planning for targeted areas, including small area and corridor planning, and building on roadway projects.
